VOKSEE: What’s in a Name?

When we were in the process of naming our new company, we knew we wanted a unique name — something that represented us and stood out from everyone else. We have a lot of talented creators in our network, and one specifically who we lean on anytime we need a name for something special. We called her up, gave her the details, and off she went. A few days later we received a list of off-the-wall names and thoughts and ideas — all meaning something special to us — but there was one that really stood out: VOKSEE.

VOKSEE, she explained, is an amalgamation of the Danish word “vokse,” meaning “to grow,” while changing the word slightly by adding the extra “e” and visually leading you to “see” what’s in our name. Our co-founder is Danish, and this just immediately felt like the word that represented what we do best — help people grow through storytelling.
